About

Fanzine Hemorrhage explores underground music fanzines and magazines from the 1960s to the present, and attempts to discuss the worlds they defined and in some cases created – all in a highly subjective manner. It’s also a good excuse for me to ramble on about whatever the hell I want to, all in the name of pretending to tie it to some lost fanzine I’ve hung onto for years. Read our entire Statement of Purpose here. Oh, and my name is Jay Hinman, and I’m doing this from San Francisco, CA.

I published a music fanzine of my own in late 2024 called Radio Dies Screaming, which used to be called Dynamite Hemorrhage. I’m done with all that now, but feel free to order the most recent issues here!

I also published a fanzine about film called Film Hemorrhage. That may come back again very soon. I have a Substack called Collected Ephemera – please subscribe.

I have a site of personal writing that I’m starting to update again called The Word Goes Flesh, and I can be reached at thejayhinman@gmail.com.
